About the Global Shapers Community:
The Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum. GSC is a group of young extraordinary individuals with great potential for future leadership roles in society. GSC, while diverse in demographics and geography with over 300 global hubs, is united by a common desire to channel the members’ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world.
About The Mumbai Hub:
We are a group of over 25 active Shapers and Alumni comprising of entrepreneurs and changemakers creating impact across sectors. We work together closely to make a positive impact in and around Mumbai.
Examples of projects we work on:
- BOTO: What if all the dry plastic waste could go towards construction? Leveraging on the proven concepts of eco-bricks, we create construction bricks from PET bottles by filling dry plastic waste in them, and use these for building robust structures such as public toilets.
- Shaper Dialogues: We bring Mumbaikars together to hold discussions and events around relevant issues such as Gender Dispartiy In The Workplace, Working With Millennials, Dating In The Era Of Technology, etc.
- Beach Cleaning: We team up with up the popular Versova beach clean-up effort to collect the garbage and spread the word.
